The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Jordan Davis and Michael MacDonald of the Fort William North Stars have been named to the Team West roster for the upcoming CJHL Top Prospects Game and Skills Competition Dec. 16-17 in Summerside, P.E.I.
They will be joined by Mitch Cain of the Fort Frances Jr. Sabres as the three Superior International Jr. Hockey League representatives on the 20-player Team West roster at the two-day event.
Davis, an 18-year old forward from Devlin, Ont., is currently tied for the team lead in scoring with 25 points in 17 games on 11 goals and 14 assists.
MacDonald recently returned to the team after representing the club and the SIJHL at the World Jr. A Challenge in Camrose, Alta., where he helped Team Canada West capture a silver medal at the multi-nation event.
In 14 games this season, the 17-year-old Thunder Bay native has 18 points on 11 goals and seven assists.
Cain is knotted for eighth in SIJHL scoring as the 17-year-old Fort Frances product has scored nine times and chipped in with 15 assists for 24 points.
Davis, MacDonald and the rest of the first-place North Stars return to game action Wednesday when they host the Thunder Bay Bearcats at the Fort William Gardens in the first of a home-and-home with their in-town rivals. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
