Left-winger Chris Lindberg spent parts of three seasons with the Calgary Flames in the early 90s. He was a top college and international player who also excelled in the German and Swiss Leagues.

Born in Fort Frances, Ontario, Lindberg spent the 1985-86 season with the Estevan Bruins of the SJHL. He then played three years at the University of Minnesota-Duluth before signing as a free agent with the Hartford Whalers in March, 1989. After splitting the next season between the AHL and East Coast League, the young forward spent the next two years on the Canadian national team. During this period he came to terms with the Flames then registered five points in eight games when Canada won the silver medal at the 1992 Albertville Olympics.

Following the Olympics, Lindberg played 17 games for Calgary then joined Canada at the World Championships. He was taken in the Expansion Draft by the Ottawa Senators then traded back to Calgary four days later. In 1992-93, the hustling winger scored nine goals and played solid defence on the talented Flames. Prior to the 1993-94 season, Lindberg signed with the Quebec Nordiques. He split the year between the NHL and the Cornwall Aces of the AHL. The next year he joined the Krefeld Pinguine of the German league and remained there for parts of the next four years. Lindberg also played a few games for EV Zug of Switzerland when they won the national championship in 1998. He retired in 2001 after playing a year with Lugano of Switzerland.
